Today, the world stands on the edge of a precipice from which there is no turning back. As I write this final thought piece, the great tribulation has ended. The entire world is facing a huge discontinuity that has most people alive on the planet totally clueless about what’s coming and why. The simple truth that I have tried to demonstrate and explain in the preceding articles is that our world is in the throes of its final death spasm and rattle. In every sphere of life, what passes as human civilization is in utter shambles as a direct result of human selfishness, sin, deceit and depravity. What is even more deplorable, is that few people in our nation or world can see it or exhibit the least bit of concern about it. These are people who have given up and gone insane telling themselves fairy tales and lies and pretending that everything is normal, when quite obviously nothing is.
In the face of this sobering reality that only a few of us, we the elect, can see, what can and should we conclude from all of this? Is life merely a sick joke, fraught with struggles, pain and conflict for most of our lives with no meaning or purpose? As Shakespeare’s character Macbeth put it, is life a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing? Or is there something hidden here that we are not seeing clearly?
The world, ruled by the devil, the prince of this world and the prince of the power of the air, tells us to eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die. It is an outlook void of hope that encourages narcissism, selfishness, hedonism and a sense of entitlement. And because resources in this life are finite, everything I get, comes at the expense of what someone else is denied. Life under this model is a zero-sum game. It is bitter, mean and short.
Then there is the other perspective. It comes from the opposite of the first source. It comes from YHWH (God) and His son, Yahushua (Christ), the source of all truth and genuine sacrificial love. The Bible tells us that those of us of the born again elect are promised eternal life if we endure until the end. Well, we are now at the end. We have endured, been afflicted and suffered tribulation, just as God’s word promised us we would be. And what do we have to show for it? If we are truly of the elect, and have truly been refined and tested by the numerous afflictions which God has orchestrated and allowed in our lives, we have developed strong convictions, grounded in that which we now know to be objectively, absolutely and universally true and we have found our true hearts, and committed our lives to sacrificially loving our fellow man. We have repeatedly been brought to our knees, out of answers and totally dependent upon God to give us the strength and protection we lack on our own power. As a result, we have learned to fear God, keep all His commandments and trust Him fully. We have learned to submit to a power and authority greater than ourselves who is providing for our every need and protection. Most amazing of all, God has never let us down, while almost all of humanity has let us down in innumerable ways.
So those of us of the elect know that we are not on our own in a struggle for survival throughout all of life in which only the strong survive and the weak die. We have a protector of infinite knowledge, power and wisdom who knows and sees all and who chose us as one of His favored set-apart ones since before the world began and that nothing happens outside of His sovereign will. He has forgiven us of our sins which had us on a path to ruin and eternity in hell that most of humanity ends up in. He has rescued us from ourselves, given us a spiritual heart transplant replacing our cold, hard hearts of stone with warm, soft hearts of loving flesh and we have been transformed into the likeness of His son, Yahushua (Christ). We are walking miracles through no merit of our own. YHWH (God) did it all. Because He chose to love us.
God has plopped us down into a fallen world which has always been a Matrix of endless lies and illusions which the non-elect, the wicked, never escape from or figure out. And then, in God’s timing and ways unique to each one of us, He began to reveal the flaws and fault lines in this world of lies and illusions to us and as we discovered them, we began to abhor this wicked world and to long for a world that is holy, just, truthful, loving, kind, selfless and without sin. That longed-for world is now almost within our reach. This fallen world is in its final days before it perishes and is no more. Today, God has revealed this world to be so foul, putrid and wicked, that most of us are more than ready to leave it and go home to the world we were predestined for.
The wicked of this world, those of the non-elect, have served their purpose. They have afflicted and persecuted us for a time and we have found our true characters in the process. We have found the courage to stand up to their evil and to resist it. It is time for the wicked and the foolish to be removed and for us to go home to be with YHWH, Yahushua and all other born again elect adopted sons and daughters of the living YHWH through faith (trust) in His son Yahushua forever. Everything this perishing world values: sex, money, power, fame and status is all fleeting and meaningless. Solomon told us all of this 3,000 years ago in the Book of Ecclesiastes, but almost no one has listened to him. All is vanity. It is like chasing the wind. It accomplishes nothing in the end.
Solomon told us that the whole duty of man is to fear God and keep His commandments. I won’t argue with that. But there is more to it. Every last one of YHWH’s born again elect discover the vital importance of truth in everything we do. Lies defile everything that is good, pure, beautiful and holy. And if we fail to love and be loved well, to give of ourselves to another, then we have, in my judgment, missed the whole purpose of a life spent in submission and obedience to God. To place the needs and wants of another ahead of our own immediate wants and comforts is the most noble, virtuous, heroic, selfless and God-honoring thing we can ever devote our lives to. Without it, we are truly nothing.
Finally, we have learned to fully trust a fully reliable and trustworthy sovereign God who has our best interests at heart, who knows what we need at any moment far better than we are likely to ever know them. We have learned this trust through many trials in which we trusted fickle, fallible human beings, they let us down; and when we turned and trusted God fully, He never failed us. We have learned that the wisest thing we can do is submit our wills to the will of the Father for our lives in all things, because His thoughts and ways are always better than our flawed thoughts and ways. We have learned how to live in unity and harmony with our fellow elect human beings and with YHWH and Yahushua. Thus, the marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven, which we will soon share in, will merely seal and affirm that we have finally arrived at true godly wisdom and maturity. May YHWH (God) receive all the honor, praise and glory for such a marvelous miracle, of which we are blessed to be a part.
